Awesome: Superman’s Dinner Shirt

If you were Superman, would you wait for the microwave? I don’t think so. You would zap the shit out of the microwave dinner.

You can pick this up for $18 on Threadless

The Dark Knight: Available for Pre-Order

The Dark Knight DVD’s have shown up for pre-order on various sites. Get this, we all expected TDK to do well on the DVD sales charts, but it has hit number 3 on Amazon’s Movie sales chart. All this coming from a movie that is still two months out. Wouldn’t you like to be behind that gravy train…maybe Chris Nolan could fund a second bailout.

You can pick up the two-disc edition for $22.99. Don’t even think about getting the one disc version. In fact, that doesn’t even exist.

No sign of the crazy awesome bat-pod edition yet. Keep your eyes peeled.

Awesome: “Goodbye Elliot” T-shirt

Busted Tees‘ newest offering imagines an alternate universe (better?) where E.T. bike jacks Elliot, and drives off into the sunset. Awesome, right? You can pick it up for $19 on their site.

Iron Man: Best Selling Blu-Ray of All Time…after 48 hours

Director Jon Favreau has just announced that Iron Man has become the best selling Blu-Ray of all time. While official sales numbers haven’t been released yet, I wouldn’t doubt it. Blu-Ray is just starting to come in vogue with all the late adopters, prices of players have been steadily falling, and well…Iron Man was a crazy popular movie. My bet though is that it won’t hold a candle to the Dark Knight sales.

What about you, are you part of the Iron Man camp, or the Dark Knight one. There isn’t going to have to be a war, is there? Is there?

Awesome: Joker Bank Robbery Action Figure

Hot Toys has just announced their latest piece of joy. a 1/6th scale figure of the Joker from the first scene of The Dark Knight. It stands 12 inches tall, and features 32 points of articulation. It comes with two different heads, a removable clown mask, fragmentation and smoke grenades, a duffel bag, playing cards (Jokers of course) a hand gun, a machine gun, and more.

I would imagine this is going to go fast, probably faster then the $10 dollar one that sold out a month before the film was released despite the much higher price. Enjoy the rest of the pictures and your dreams of the fun you two could share.

Awesome: Bat Pod DVD Set

Update: I just got a take-down notice from Warner Bros. themselves…great fun. They just all but confirmed the truth of this, didn’t they…

Are we going to call shenanigans on this, or is it legit? Our tipster claims it’ll be a special edition DVD set, but in this form (if this is how it will be packaged) it looks more like just a toy/collectable then a DVD set.

What do you think, real or fake? Either way, I’m ready to buy one…right now. Hear that Mr. Nolan, you could just send one my way if you want. I won’t mind.

Advertising Age has an interesting article on how brands are leveraging this years blockbuster hit to increase their sales, especially since the movie is seen to appeal to a very wide range of audiences.
