May 6th, 2008 — actors, awesome, merchandise

Fans have cleaned out the entire supply of Heath Ledger’s Joker action figure, within minutes of them going on sale.
The toys went on sale for $9.99 and showed Heath Ledger as the ‘Joker’, his final completed role before his untimely demise of an accidental drug overdose.
An employee of Times Square’s Toys R Us store says, “There are none left in the warehouse. You will be waiting a while if you want one.”
Some fans are believed to be buying up stock, convinced the figure is a collector’s item; others are selling them on auction site eBay for up to $55 each.
Ledger will be seen as the Joker alongside Christian Bale’s Batman in The Dark Knight–which hits movie theaters worldwide in July.
April 13th, 2008 — actors, movies, preview

A few days ago there were rumblings all over the internet about a certain scene which depicted the late actor Heath Ledger playing dead in a body bag, were going to be cut from The Dark Knight. According to MovieHole, a source close to the production claims that the scene will not be cut from the film. The source claims there was never a mandate to remove the scene. Nolan’s original view of the film will remain intact. Personally, I don’t see a reason to cut the scene, it’s not as if he were reenacting the death of an actor, just playing the character he was hired to play.
Do you think the scene should have been cut?
