My Most Anticipated 2010

2009 had some great films, but it also had its share of stinkers. I’m not going to do a post on the potentially horrible films of 2010 (it would be waaaay too long). Lets stay optimistic and look at the five best looking films of the next twelve months.

1. Inception (July 16th)

We know almost nothing about Christopher Nolan’s latest, and that’s exactly the way it should be. It seems fairly reminiscent of The Matrix and looks to be starring everyone under the sun. Watch the trailer then try to explain what you saw…yeah.

2. Toy Story 3 (June 18th)

It’s another Toy Story…that’s all you need to know.

3. Kick-Ass (April 16th)

Original comic property that’s violent, vulgar, and completely insane. Now turn that into a movie. Hell yeah. If you haven’t seen the red band Hit Girl trailer yet, watch it right now. In fact…just click play below.

Now try to tell me it doesn’t look awesome. Try it.

4. Shutter Island (February 19th)

It’s Scorsese, so it has to be great, right? There have been a few disappointed viewers at advance screenings, but we’re going to stay positive and keep looking forward to it.

5. Iron Man 2 (May 7th)

I wasn’t the biggest fan of the original. It wasn’t bad, but I just didn’t think it lived up to its hype. The follow-up looks to change that. After getting to a rocky start with rumors of contract issues with almost everyone involved, it took off running, picking Mickey Rourke up along the way. Could it get any better?

It’s going to be an ok year. We’ll make it through though.

Or not…

These are already making me physically ill:

  1. Legion
  2. The Tooth Fairy
  3. Dear John
  4. The Spy Next Door
  5. Furry Vengeance

Let me just get this out. I still don’t understand how they greenlit a film like The Tooth Fairy, let alone why anyone (read Billy Crystal and Julie Andrews…it’s expected from The Rock) would agree to be a part of it. It baffles me.
