Prom Night, a remake of the 80’s slasher film of the same name, took the box office with a $22.7 million take. Not all sunshine and puppies though, as the Metacritic rating for the film is hovering at a 23/100. Granted horror movies generally have an audience that watches them no matter what, an audience that seems hopefully oblivious to the idea that there are actually good movies out there…
So, enough of that. Any guesses as to who will take the box office this week? Our money is on Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the Apatow produced comedy.
A few days ago there were rumblings all over the internet about a certain scene which depicted the late actor Heath Ledger playing dead in a body bag, were going to be cut from The Dark Knight. According to MovieHole, a source close to the production claims that the scene will not be cut from the film. The source claims there was never a mandate to remove the scene. Nolan’s original view of the film will remain intact. Personally, I don’t see a reason to cut the scene, it’s not as if he were reenacting the death of an actor, just playing the character he was hired to play.
